Outdoor Adventures
The Friends of the Fairies is a group of young naturalists focused on keeping the magical places of nature fairy-fit. We head out with our magnifying glasses and journals on short hikes into the woods and along the streams of the Hudson Highlands. We draw, write, discover, and identify together the details in nature, from moss to ferns to mushrooms. We look for and inspect those little areas in nature that might otherwise be overlooked or stepped on. We respect the beginnings of things and learn to appreciate how nature works together as a whole.
